Miami-Dade and Broward now outside of cone

MIAMI (WSVN) -- The National Hurricane Center's latest advisory shows Miami-Dade and Broward County outside of the cone of uncertainty.

Forecasters still emphasize that hurricane watches and warnings remain in effect for the areas because the track can still shift.

The system has not shown much intensification throughout Sunday, as it made its way across Cuba. However, it has left five people dead in the Caribbean Islands.

A hurricane watch is in effect for the Florida Keys from south of Ocean Reef to Key West, and from Card Sound Bridge westward to Anna Maria Island. A hurricane watch means that hurricane conditions are possible within the watch area within 36 hours.

Authorities in Monroe County have ordered the evacuation of visitors in the Keys. There is also an evacuation order for mobile home residents, those in low-lying areas and boat homes in Monroe.

A tropical storm warning also remains in effect for The Florida Keys from Craig Key westward to the Dry Tortugas. A tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected within the warning area within the next 24 hours.

A tropical storm watch remains in effect for the southeast coast of Florida from Ocean Reef Northward to Jupiter Inlet and for Lake Okeechobee. A tropical storm watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area generally within 36 hours.
